Hi! I'm Jack.

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film. I'm currently based in Austin, where I work full-time as a video editor for a local news station.

Now that that's out of the way, here are some more interesting things to know about me:

• I have a passion for narrative-focused, exploration-driven video games (ask me about immersive sims, Metroidvanias, or Outer Wilds)
• I enjoy writing about games, mental health, weight & body image, accessibility, and social justice
• For two years during the pandemic, I helped build and run a series of online video game writing masterclasses with veteran games writer Susan O'Connor that as of December 2023 have over 350 alumni
• I co-host a Star Wars podcast with my brother (hello, all twelve of our listeners!!)
• I stream games on Twitch sometimes, as a bird
• Going to weekly therapy, journaling, making art, listening to music, and playing Beat Saber are all part of my self-care routine
